Magic Johnson Gives Josh Hart New Nickname After Big Game 5 For New York Knicks
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Josh Hart has been a revelation in the playoffs after everything he has done for the New York Knicks. As a result, he received a new nickname from one of the best guys to ever play in the NBA, Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson.

Hart first made his way to the Big Apple via a four-team trade that involved the Portland Trail Blazers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Charlotte Hornets before the trade deadline last year. In the limited amount of time he played for the Knicks, Hart has shown promise as a highly-productive wing when he averaged 10.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.4 steals in 25 games.

With the benefit of a full season behind him, Hart continued to shine in this year’s playoffs. His performance against Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers, in particular, has shone a new light on how much of an impact he’s doing for the Knicks. Throughout the five games he has played against them, Hart has notched 14.6 points, 12.0 rebounds, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.4 steals. He’s also playing for 40.4 minutes in those contests, which serves as proof of how durable he is right now.

As a result, the Knicks are now up 3-2 over Indiana. With only one more win, Hart may find himself appearing in the Conference Finals for the first time in his career.

NBA Legend Magic Johnson Gives Josh Hart New Nickname After New York Knicks’ Game 5 Win

After Hart’s big performance in Game 5, NBA icon Magic Johnson bestowed a new name on him. In a post he shared on his official X account:

“My main man Josh Hart finished with an 18 point, 11 rebound double-double tonight. I can him Mr. Everything because he does a little bit of everything on the court!” Johnson tweeted.

As it stands, Hart’s two-way performance is helping Jalen Brunson and the Knicks exceed expectations in the postseason. Even though their team has been ravaged by injuries, his effective style on the court has allowed them to come close to eliminating the Pacers.

If the Knicks hope to contend for a ring this year, Hart will have to continue doing what he can for the team. In this way, he can justify Magic’s new name for him in the long run.
